The ETA Mapping feature allows you to set up estimated delivery times for each shipping method. This way, your customers see upfront when their order is expected to arrive — which builds trust, reduces cart abandonment, and increases conversions.
🔹 How to Add ETA Mapping?
In ETA Mapping, you add estimated delivery times for your shipping methods. These ETAs (Estimated Time of Arrival) should be realistic and based on the actual delivery time a particular shipping method takes. For example, if UK Air Mail takes 3-5 days to deliver, you can add your ETA Range for UK Air Mail as 3-5, 3-6 or even 4-6 days to ensure you give your customers a pleasant surprise when delivered a day earlier or within the expected time of arrival.
🔹 Step-1: Configure Your Shipping Methods
To add ETA Mapping, you first need to have some shipping methods already configured in Woocommerce>Settings>Shipping. Here you can create Zone-based shipping methods for different regions/countries and set shipping costs. Instead of usual Flat Rate, and Free Shipping, you can give custom names to your shipping methods like Express Shipping, UK AirMail or real cargo company names like ePacket, DHL, Leopard etc.
Recommended: Depending on your selling locations, add as many zones as possible. This will help you assign specific shipping methods for specific zones/countries or group of countries.
Let’s say you’ve configured your Shipping Zones in WooCommerce like this:
Zone | Shipping Method | Cost |
---|---|---|
United States | ePacket | $0.00 |
United Kingdom | UK Air Mail
ePacket |
$3.00
$0 |
🔹Step-2: Add ETA Mapping
Now that you already have your shipping methods added to your zones, we can add ETA Mapping rules for those methods. In your WordPress dashboard go to Settings/WC PP Shipping. Click on the ‘ETA Mapping‘ tab.
- In the Select Method dropdown, choose a shipping method and set Min days and Max days.
- Press the Add ETA Mapping button.
- Click Save Changes.
Once an ETA Mapping rule is added to a shipping method, the plugin will automatically convert the days range into respective dates and print it.
🔹 Best Practices for ETA Mapping
✅ Be realistic, not overly optimistic – always promise slightly longer than your average delivery, so customers are pleasantly surprised when it’s faster.
✅ Use “business days” for services that don’t operate weekends or holidays.
✅ Differentiate domestic vs international shipping – e.g., 3–5 days (domestic)
vs. 1–3 weeks (international)
.
✅ Leave blank if unnecessary – for methods like Local Pickup where ETA is irrelevant.
🔹 Why ETA Mapping is Important

Transparency: Customers know what to expect before checkout.
-
Conversions: Showing upfront delivery times can boost sales by up to 50%.
-
Reduced Cart Abandonment: Fewer surprises at checkout.
